This website was created as a compilation of ten lesbian love poems by five of the greatest American women writers of the 20th Century.

In the duration of the course, we have encountered many literature pertaining to the way women love which is very different from the male interpretation. In fact, many of the lesbians I know, when asked why they prefer to be in relationships with women, answer in pretty much the same way: "mas masarap magmahal ang babae".

Based on my own experience, women companions are indeed more caring and understanding than men. I think this may be because of the fact that they are women and they tend to empathize more with their partners. This gives them the tendency to be more sensitive and compassionate to their significant other. They understand better the needs of their lovers because they need the same thing.

It is because of this love that these writers were driven to create these great works of art. Through these poems, these literary giants were able to express their love for their partners in sometimes hidden and sometimes explicit ways for, to this day, lesbian relationships are still looked down upon by society. Despite the literary world’s unacceptance of lesbain poetry, these poets were still able to write about their love affairs.

This anthology is a tribute to their passion. Passion that they exemplified not only in their writing and in their lives.
